2011 South East Regional Meeting

The 2011 APSA South East Regional Meeting will take place on September 17th, 2011 at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Objectives:

Vertical and horizontal networking and mentoring amongst current and future physician scientist trainees in the Southeast.
Individual research presentation and peer feedback.
Providing information for undergraduate students interested in MD/PhD programs.

MD/PhD students and DO/PhD students
Medical students interested in research/academic pathways
PhD students interested in medically oriented research
Undergraduate students interested in physician-scientist degree programs

Registration:

Early Registration: July 22 – August 29, 2011
Late Registration: August 29 – September 16, 2011

Travel Awards:

APSA's partner, the Infectious Disease Society Of America (IDSA) will be providing merit-based travel awards.  Interested students should submit an abstract on research in the field of infectious diseases, based on the poster they will present during the Symposium.

Abstract Submission:

In order to submit an abstract, you need to first sign in. If you are not yet an APSA member and don't yet have a profile on the APSA website, please become a member of APSA by following the link here or create an account without becoming an APSA member here.

Abstract submission is now available and will close on September 3, 2011.  The word limit for abstracts is 300 words.

Cutoff for Microbiology/Infectious Disease abstracts to be considered for IDSA travel award: Friday, August 19, 2011.

The Abstract Submission site can be accessed here.  You  must create a web account on the APSA website to access the submission form.

If you became a member in the last 2 years or have attended an APSA meeting in the last 2 years, you most likely already have an APSA web account so simply login when asked.

Non-Members
 - Early Registration Fees = $25.00
 - Late Registration Fees = $35.00|

 - Early Registration Fee = $0.00 (FREE)
 - Late Registration Fees = $5.00 

Students from the hosting institutions (Vanderbilt, Emory, University of Alabama at Birmingham)
- Early Registration Fee = $0.00 (FREE)
- Late Registration Fees = $5.00

Registration fees include conference admission, breakfast, lunch, and dinner at conference venue, and tour of Yerkes Primate Facility (optional)
