Craig B Thompson, MD

President and CEO of MSKCC effective Nov 2, 2010; former HHMI investigator, member of Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences, and is on the Board of Directors for the Association of American Cancer Institutes and the American Association for Cancer Research. Dr. Thompson is a board-certified internist and medical oncologist. His lab researches the importance of regulation of cell autonomous nutrient uptake in prevention of cell transformation. Specifically, they investigate the role of glutamine metabolism in pancreatic cancer in attempts to develop ne diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to such tumors.
