Marie Csete, MD PhD:
Executive Vice President of Research at Organovo, previous Chief Scientific Officer of the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine, previous John E. Steinhaus Professor of Anesthesiology and MSTP co-director at Emory University. Dr. Csete brings extensive experience from academia and industry, providing a unique insight into how physician scientists can bridge gaps not only between science and medicine, but with industry as well. Dr. Csete will deliver a keynote addressing how a clinical focus can drive investigation.
Jacque Galipeau MD:
Emory University Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Pediatrics and Medicine, Co-Director of the Emory-Georgia Tech Center for Regenerative Therapy, Director of Emory-Georgia Tech Cell Therapy Facility. Dr. Galipeau additionally leads research investigating enzyme replacement therapy, regenerative medicine, cell based approaches to cancer therapy. Dr. Galipeau will deliver a keynote address detailing his scientific achievements and how they interact with his clinical practice.
Denise Koo, MD MPH:
Dr. Koo is the Director of the Scientific Education and Professional Development Office (SEPDPO) of the CDC. Dr. Koo ensures the SEPDPO provides leadership in public health training and education while managing evidence-based programs that prepare members of local, state, and governmental agencies to meet public health needs. Dr. Koo has served at the CDC for over 20 years as the chief or director of multiple divisions within the CDC. Dr. Koo will deliver a keynote addressing the role of academic physicians in the public health arena, as well as within governmental institutions.
