2007 APSA Annual Meeting attendees
You are cordially invited to the 6th Annual Meeting of the American Physician Scientists Association in Chicago, Illinois from Friday, April 23rd until Sunday, April 25th, 2010. The largest meeting of physician-scientists from around the world will be held at the prestigious Fairmont Hotel, within walking distance to both the heart of Chicago’s entertainment and Millennium Park. Every level of training and expertise, including students, residents, fellows, young investigators, professors, researchers, managers, CEOs, investigators, and clinicians, will be gathered within a unique environment fostering the interaction between academia, industry, and government.
As this meeting coordinates with the Association of American Physicians (AAP) as well as the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), there will be ample opportunity to develop your knowledge on an expansive number of topics. In addition, there will be ample opportunities to find yourself face to face with some of the top physician-scientists in the country; those who direct our country’s scientific ambitions, oversee millions of dollars in funding, and are the mentors of thousands of future researchers.
Additionally, we hope that our APSA student members will be able to find themselves amongst their peers and colleagues; all of the top minds in the country and within their respective fields. By presenting your research at a number of poster sessions throughout the weekend, you will have the opportunity to discuss, interact, and gather crucial advice from those whose research intersects your own. This year, we are truly excited to offer various Travel Awards made available by APSA and its partner organizationsnati. Be sure to submit your abstract by the posted deadline to be considered for these funds!
Lastly, the Annual Meeting Committee has been diligently working on many social activities to take place over the weekend. This year we will have a spectacular opening reception to welcome each and every one of you at Millennium Park followed throughout the week by mentorship breakfasts, hot-topic discussions, and various dinner opportunities. It is our hope you will be able to build and expand your professional network as you meet up with old colleagues, interact with new friends, and establish future mentor-relationships. We are highly anticipating this year’s meeting to be our largest and hope you will join us in strengthening, APSA, the association dedicated to all physician-scientists, now and in our future.

The American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians are pleased to welcome members of the American Physician Scientists Association (APSA) to the 2010 Joint Meeting. This is the sixth year that APSA has met alongside the Joint Meeting, and this year we've produced a program that we hope will better integrate the two meetings. The meetings kick off on Friday at 1 p.m. with an APSA-hosted session, leading into the Joint Meeting opening plenary and ASCI Welcome Reception. On Saturday, in addition to exceptional scientific lectures, we're featuring the Joint Meeting's honorific talks to make room for an APSA-chaired Sunday morning session that will offer oral presentations of select presenters from the meeting's Poster Session. We're eager to highlight APSA participation in the meeting, and we've made some exciting changes this year to achieve that. The ASCI and AAP look forward to seeing you for a weekend of excellent science and mentoring in Chicago!
