The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine will host the 2017 APSA Midwest Regional meeting on January 13, 2018. Registration is open to all current and prospective MD, MD/PhD and PhD students with an interest in medicine, clinical research, and a career as a physician scientist regardless of APSA membership. Read below for details on the meeting and how you can be a part of it!

Who Should Attend
Anyone with an interest in medicine, clinical research, and a career as a physician scientist. The conference welcomes all trainees in MD/PhD, DO/PhD, MD, DO, health sciences graduate programs, as well as undergraduate students interested in learning more about medical careers and research.

 

Registration Information
Registration is open to all interested participants at all institutions regardless of APSA membership. Registration is open now and closes January 5th, 2018. Click HERE to register. Registration for the conference is FREE for all attendees. If you decide to cancel your registration, please email Amy Whillock, at least 10 days prior to the meeting.

 

Abstracts and Poster Sessions
All participants are encouraged to submit poster abstracts for the conference poster sessions. Posters will be automatically entered into a judging competition with cash prizes for winners. Interested participants may submit abstracts before Friday, January 5th, 2018. Abstracts are limited to one per registrant and the registrant must be the first author. Please limit abstract text to 1600 characters (including spaces), not including title, authors, or affiliations. We recommend posters no larger than 32" x 48". Please email Amy Whillock for any questions.

Transportation and Lodging
For those in need of hotel accommodations, we have a negotiated group rate with the Coralville Marriott located a 10-minute drive from MERF at 300 E 9th St, Coralville, IA 52241. We have also a group rate at Hilton Garden Inn Iowa City Downtown University, which is a 20 minute walk or short bus ride from MERF (328 S Clinton St, Iowa City, IA 52240). Hotel shuttles are available at both hotels.
