Ms. Jennifer Kwan is an MD/PhD candidate in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Illinois, Chicago. She previously graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in molecular biology, where she was both a Cal Alumni Scholar and recipient of the Berkeley Academic Scholarship. She is a recipient of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Leadership Award, and her current research on PI3K-Akt signaling has earned her the Molecular Genetics Provost Deiss award. Within APSA, Ms. Kwan previously served on the Policy Committee as Vice-Chair, where she helped design the recently completed F30 survey. As Policy Chair last year, she helped develop and launch the pilot for the Tomorrow’s Physician survey, which aims to identify future career interests of physicians and physician-scientists as well as factors that have helped or hindered their career development. She is also co-founder and chair of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Mentors Program. Ms. Kwan is currently Policy Committee Co-Chair and Vice President for External Affairs.
