Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations Committee has several responsibilities including the maintenance of APSA's website, the publication of APSA's electronic newsletters, and the representation of APSA at other conferences / meetings, to the leadership of other organizations, and to the public.
Current / Past work of the Public Relations (PR) Committee
- APSA Newsletter published four times per year
- Inclusion of "themes" for the newsletters
- Inclusion of APSA membership using Facebook® conversations for publication in the newsletter
- Updated website launched, including a list of 'research friendly' residency programs
- Provided packet, in conjunction with the membership committee, to the Institutional Representatives
- Development of public relations material for the regional meetings and annual meeting
Short Term (1-2 years) plans for Public Relations
- Continue to assist in public relations and membership recruitment
- Compile packets to distribute to membership highlighting benefits of the organization
- Continue to work with AMA and other partner organizations to launch APSA onto the national scene
- Ensure that APSA becomes a "buzzword" among MD/DO/PhD program directors and students
- Ensure that all schools that offer MD/DO/PhD programs will have institutional representatives in APSA and that our advertising and materials will be available to all students in such programs
