Membership Committee
The mission of the APSA Membership Committee is two-fold. First, the committee will be responsible for the recruitment and long-term retention of members and Institutional Representatives into the organization. Second, the Membership Committee is focused on increasing the benefits that the APSA can offer the individual member. This involves advancing innovative ideas into workable projects, and collaborating with other committees to support the needs voiced by APSA members.
Two of the Main Projects for the 2008-2009 year:
- Create Regional Directories on the new website for APSA-connected institutions in similar geographic areas (e.g. New England, Southeast, California, etc.). We hope to increase contacts, collaboration, and participation between programs, providing simple and accessible means to connect with other APSA members online and subsequently in other settings.
- Connect with Medical Research Fellowship programs (e.g. Sarnoff, HHMI, Doris Duke, etc.) to raise awareness about the APSA to medical students who are involved in research but not in a dual-degree program.
